Kiln Theatre views the world through a variety of lenses, bringing unheard voices into the mainstream. It presents high quality and innovative work, which provokes debate and emotionally engages. Located in Brent, the most diverse borough in London, the Tricycle is a local venue with an international vision.
The Kiln Theatre produces world-class British and international theatre that reflects the exceptional diversity of its local community. We make theatre that crosses continents, voices and styles: theatre that tells big stories from around the world about how human connections are made through culture, race and language.
Through scale of opportunity, commitment to talent and telling human stories without borders, we want to ensure a rich range of perspectives on the Tricycle’s stage now, and for the future.
Kiln Theatre stages at least six productions per year in our intimate and unique theatre. Of these plays, 2–3 will be ‘commissioned’ specifically for this theatre and produced by the Tricycle’s artistic team. Other plays we stage are programmed in collaboration with national or international companies.
Kiln Theatre has recently collaborated with Sundance Theatre Lab, Complicite, Birmingham Rep., Tiata Fahodzi, Paines Plough, Liverpool Everyman, Eclipse Theatre, Bath Theatre Royal, WhyNot Theatre and Plymouth Theatre Royal, amongst others.
Formerly known as the Tricycle Theatre.
