Built in 1968 as part of the new Civic Centre, Woodville Halls has hosted dance schools, local shows and national talent. Our main auditorium is capable of seating 650 patrons across three levels or of being transformed into a flat floor space for cabaret performances for 380 seated at tables and 100 seated in the circle. Beneath the Main Auditorium is our Studio Theatre, sponsored by O2 Gravesend. This space is used to present familiar plays and new pieces of theatre and play hosts to our monthly Comedy Club. The Studio Theatre, sponsored by 02 Gravesend can accommodate up to 180 seated patrons and has a bar at the rear of the seating area.

Through our programming we aim to present national touring works of all genres, to introduce and build a local audience for The City of Rochester Symphony Orchestra and visiting classical musicians and to re-engage the local community with the venue by allowing them to use the space for a variety of performance styles. We offer a dynamic programme of theatre, live performances, community projects, cinema and live broadcasts. Our cinema, named after award winning director Paul Greengrass (he went to school in Gravesend!) boasts Dolby surround sound and 3D facilities. It is the only cinema in Gravesham and shares the Main Auditorium space.

Our creative program aims to address the challenge of how to be commercially successful whilst at the same time presenting a varied and enriching calendar of entertainment.

The Woodville also has an art gallery on site, The Blake Gallery (named after British painter and illustrator Sir Peter Blake). At the front of The Woodville is a 'Community Square'. This large space is used for Cultural and community events, including outdoor concerts and theatre. There are several meeting and conference spaces in the venue and the main auditorium is used for exhibitions and key notes. Woodville is licensed for civil ceremonies and has a team on hand to arrange as much or as little as is required. School Proms, Parties and Celebrations are held at the complex throughout the year.

The venue is owned by Gravesham Borough Council and is in receipt of a yearly subsidy.
