Dirty Pakistani Lingerie
Set in post 9/11 America, Dirty Pakistani Lingerie interweaves the stories of six Pakistani-American women. Sparks fly and preconceptions about culture, sex, and politics are hilariously and hauntingly shattered in the show The Wall Street Journal says ‘breaks down stereotypes of Muslim women in America’.
Dirty Pakistani Lingerie is an award-winning production that has toured extensively across America and internationally. It received a US Embassy Grant to undertake a three-city tour in Pakistan and was the first American play to represent the United States at the International Theater Festival of Turkmenistan.
The play is written by Aizzah Fatima, drawing on her own experiences as an American-Pakistani Muslim woman and those collected through working with Muslim American-Pakistani women in a range of communities in America.
