Spare Tyre Theatre

Spare Tyre is a leading participatory arts charity. With Arti Prashar (Artistic Director) we have 38 years experience of producing bold and powerful theatre with voiceless communities. We use performing and digital arts to challenge prejudice and to realise equality, diversity and accessibility.

Our arts practice is based on meaningful engagement, care and communication. It focuses on what people can do and supports individuals and communities by enabling their unheard stories to be told, shared and celebrated. A multi-sensory, multi-artform approach is used across all of our work.

Our projects engage diverse communities currently including:

• Adults with learning disabilities
• People aged 60+
• People with advanced dementia
• Communities with economic disadvantage

Our mantra is ‘train, mentor, progress’. We offer support in a variety of ways to emerging artists, administrators, interns,volunteers and participants during their journey with Spare Tyre.
