Gameshow
We want to bring new audiences into theatres
We want to create bold + playful productions
We want to engage, excite + invigorate audiences
We want to communicate ideas + images that make people think + feel in new ways about their lives + the world
Gameshow is a BAME-led company, started in 2008 by Matt Ryan and Matthew Evans. We produce plays and
experimental performance.
Our productions include modern classics (Agatha by Marguerite Duras at The Yard, The Jewish Wife by Bertolt Brecht at BAC) and renaissance drama (A Midsummer Night’s Dream by William Shakespeare at Catford Broadway, The Spanish Tragedy by Thomas Kyd at Corpus). We work closely with writers to develop new plays including Tristan Bernays (Eden 2.0), Duncan Macmillan (Phoenician Women) and Barney Norris (Fear Of Music). We are currently
developing a production of Man4Man by Brian Mullin.
Recent experimental projects include This Is The Moon, developed at Ovalhouse and The Yard ahead of a UK tour, Space Junk at Lyric Hammersmith and Stories for Strangers, which premieres at Green Man Festival 2015. We are currently collaborating with Camden People’s Theatre and mac birmingham on the HS2 Project , devising performance with those directly affected by the proposed high speed railway. Further development is planned for 2016 alongside a small-scale tour of our latest show SOLO , a loud love letter to outsiders.
Beyond Gameshow, Matt ran She Spat Playfully in Melbourne, trained with Punchdrunk and John Britton, and was shortlisted for the Genesis Future Directors Award in 2013. Matthew won the JMK Directors Award in 2010 and is a member of BAME Artistic Directors Of The Future.
