We are Tribe Arts, a philosophically inspired, radical-political theatre company based in Leeds/Bradford. Originally a company of five, now the two remaining founding members – Tajpal Rathore and Samran Rathore – spearhead the creative vision, which is both excitingly radical and intuitively revolutionary. We amplify the stories and voices of the current Black and Asian generation and believe theatre needs to be rejuvenated into the 21st century, and want to cultivate an environment for a renaissance in theatre-making and produce unexpected theatre that reaches towards transcendental experiences.
TRIBE TALKS
Tribe Talks is a radical new format of participatory theatre, where a panel of esteemed speakers motivate the audience to talk, chat, discuss, debate, consider and fathom the topics of discussion – think Question Time, but interspersed with live performance, music and film.
In 2018, Tribe will be launching a groundbreakingly ambitious 4-year programme of work, using the format to expose the epic story of the Black & Asian people, from the first migration out of Africa 100,000 years ago to present day, post-colonial Britain.
Keep updated with developments on TRIBE TALKS, including how you can get involved now, before the launch, and help shape the show by being part of Tribe Talks Friday’s TRIBE TALKS FRIDAYS.
Tribe launched with their pilot of Tribe Talks in May 2015 at the National Media Museum in Bradford, as part of Bradford Literature Festival.
