Eclipse Theatre invite application to join them for the first Slate workshop!
Co-creating Approaches
Thriving in new conditions at work
This five-day workshop is a chance for artists to explore what happens when creative, bright people are brought together and ideas and approaches collide. You will be encouraged to consider, and to try out, what it takes to forge a new piece of work, a community, connections, and different ways of making together. 

Artists will be paid to attend and expenses will be covered by Slate.

Times: 10am – 5pm
Venue: York Theatre Royal
Closing date for applications: 28 April 2017, midday


Participants can expect:

  • An opportunity for forging connections with peers across the region.
  • New approaches for co-creating.
  • A chance to engage with varied art forms and processes.
  • Provocations to enrich your approach to your arts practice.
  • An environment of inventive and supportive facilitators and peers.

Who Can Apply
Black artists working in any medium or discipline, whether you make solo work, are already part of co-creating initiatives, or have a mix of styles in your practice, and who are based in the North of England.*

*Slate has chosen to use the definition ‘Black’ in the broadest socio political sense.
How to apply
Email your CV and a Covering Letter to ENABLER outlining why you wish to take part, your interest in co-creating (and any current or previous experience), along with confirmation that you are available for each day of the week-long programme.  Please include in your application brief details of where you heard about this position (e.g. email, Facebook, Twitter, word of mouth etc.
This is the first of many opportunities and workshops that will be offered through Slate.
