Black Theatre Live commission to be developed at Stratford Circus Arts Centre
25 February 2017
Big news! After seed commission support from Black Theatre Live and Stratford Circus Arts Centre in 2016, we are pleased to share the news that Big Foot from High Rise will be the consortium's next small-scale tour in 2017.
Big Foot is new comic-drama exploring love, life and masculinity. It's an autobiographical story from High Rise co-artistic director Joseph Barnes-Phillips which unpacks the euphoric highs of teenage London and the crushing lows of navigating illness. With Guyanese folk stories, grime music and compelling energy, Big Foot is an honest portrayal of becoming a man and the weight that comes with it.
Stratford Circus Arts Centre and Black Theatre Live are excited to be working with Joseph Barnes-Phillips and Dominic Garfield, co-directors of High Rise, to bring this exciting new show to the stage.
Big Foot will receive its premiere at Stratford Circus Arts Centre in our Autumn season this year. Join our mailing list and be the first to hear when tickets are available.
