Artistic Directors of the Future - Diversifying London's Theatre Boards

25 January 2017

ADF: Diversifying London's Theatre Boards, second event at Chelsea Theatre on Monday 6th February 2017, 2-5pm, supported by Battersea Arts Centre and Chelsea Theatre. This event will be a practical and fun session to make positive change. Full details attached.

ADF recognise that Trustees have the ultimate responsibility to recruit and appoint the artistic directors and leaders of their organisations. Currently there are disproportionately few BAME representatives on the boards of London theatres which we think hampers the appointment of more BAME leaders of those organisations.ADF recognise that the relationship between existing Trustees and the diverse talent pool in London remains distant.

ADF would like to create an afternoon networking and training event with the following objectives:

  • Introducing ADF members to the Boards of London theatres;
  • Review the appointment of new Trustees and explore new pathways to increase the diversity of board members;
  • Demystify the recruitment of Artistic Directors and the role of Trustees.

We are asking each London Theatre to contribute between £25-£50 to cover the cost of the event. Details of the event are attached to this email. We hope to hear from you and that you and trustees from your board can come along. Places are limited so please be quick!

RSVP or for more information on this event, please contact Simeilia by email at [email protected] or call 07984 642 547.
